Kanawha County Leaning Toward Optical Scan Voting System
Last Thursday's Kanawha County Commission meeting was a real boost to the morale. It looks like the Commission will choose optical scan for the county's new voting system (see these stories from the
Charleston Gazette and the
Charleston Daily Mail), however, the vote will not be taken until later this week so some last minute re-enforcement can't hurt. To those who have already voiced support for optical scan -- Thank you! If you have not, please consider sending a brief message to your Commissioners such as:
I understand that you are leaning toward optical scan for our voting technology. I want you to know that I completely support that choice. I will have much more confidence in an election result in which the totals can be validated by counting the ballot filled out by the voter. Thank you.
