Some Coal Truck Drivers Say No More Illegally Hauling Coal
Some coal truck drivers in Perry County say they're not going to
illegally haul coal in order to make money.
About a dozen coal haulers have parked their 18-wheelers along
Route 80 in Hazard.
The drivers say the company they work for, Horizon Natural
Resources, has encouraged hauling payloads in violation of federal
limits.
With higher insurance and gas costs they say they can't haul the
legal weight and still come out ahead.
"Everyone wants us to haul legal to be safe. They don't want
their families and everything run over," Larry Barger, a Truck
Driver said
WYMT attempted to contact Horizon Natural Resources but was
unable to reach them for comment.
